What is Madeline's Mission

Madeline Anne Wildes, the daughter of Landon and Amanda Wildes, gave the gift of life on August 20, 2008. Although she was only 7 months old, she gave other children a chance to live. When Madeline passed away this past August, her organs were donated so that other children could have hope.
Madeline’s Mission was organized to celebrate the life of Madeline and help provide comfort to children while they are hospitalized awaiting transplants or other medical procedures. It is also our hope that through Madeline’s Mission individuals will realize the importance of organ donation.
Madeline’s Mission will be donating bears to transplant patients at Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta, as well as to participants in summer camps Egleston hosts each year for former transplant patients. In addition, Madeline’s Mission teddy bears will also be given to children hospitalized at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and Sumter Regional Hospital.
Paper Madeline’s Mission teddy bears are available to purchase for $1 or greater, depending on the purchasers wishes. The paper bears can be signed by the donor and will be displayed at the various businesses selling them throughout Southwest Georgia. T-shirts are also available for $10. Tote bags displaying the Madeline's Mission logo are available for $10. The funds raised by Madeline’s Mission will be used to purchase stuffed teddy bears that will wear a small t-shirt displaying the Madeline’s Mission logo, as well as a statement honoring Madeline’s short life. These bears are also available to purchase for $15.00.
